John Hendrix is the Director of Economic Development for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.  In this position, he is responsible for the creation and implementation of the strategic economic development plan for the Mississippi Choctaws which includes international development, high-tech industry, retail/commercial development and small business development.  During his 15-year tenure with the Tribe, John has participated in the development and start-up of many tribally-owned companies representing an investment of more than $500 million.  John received a degree in Business Administration from Millsaps College in 1988.  In 2005, he received his master’s degree in Business Administration from Duke University which included residencies in Asia, Europe and South America.  John has also participated in international business trips to Japan, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.  He is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by the International Economic Development Council, as well as an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) by the National Development Council.  John lives in Madison, Mississippi with his wife and two children.
