• Website Design and Maintenance

All Distance Learning degree programs and certifications require a website to be posted on www.distance.msstate.edu. Websites are developed and maintained with your departmental approval on aesthetics and content. College Independent Study courses are maintained on a separate site: www.is.msstate.edu.

• Digitizing & Uploading Course Content Online

All Distance Learning and College Independent course content and examinations will be uploaded into the online learning environment and be maintained on your behalf.

In addition, all Distance Learning IVN courses must have an online component in order to assist those distance learners in reviewing course content that they may have missed in order to attend to personal, career, and family obligations or due to technical difficulties that may have arisen beyond their control. This hybrid method of delivery also enables you and your academic department to meet the needs of distance learners throughout the state using a face-to-face method while still reaching out to a larger, national population via online delivery. All courses are available for student viewing within 12 – 24 hours of the completion of the IVN lecture.

• IVN Facilitator Technical Training & IVN Room Maintenance

All Distance Learning programs, certifications, and courses offered via the Interactive Video Network (IVN) are done so with the expertise of our trained facilitators. Our facilitators are present during all class meetings to assist you with the technology present in the Simrall and Swalm IVN classrooms.

All scheduling of IVN courses on campus, the state, and the nation is done by us in cooperation with ITS and IHL at no cost. When working with new IVN sites not currently listed within the state or engaged in a partnership with another institution, equipment compatibility testing of the off-campus site will be conducted by us at no cost.

• Distance Course Development Consultation, Evaluation, & Implementation

Distance Learning and College Independent Study course design is available. We handle everything from evaluation of online feasibility, state and national interest surveys, financial analyses, and implementation at no cost.
