Tamra Swann

Hi! My name is Tamra Swann, and I am the College of Business and Industry representative on behalf of Academic Outreach & Continuing Education. I am excited about the growth of outreach programs within the College of Business and Industry and look forward to working on additional programs in the future.

Just a little bit about me…In 1994, I received my degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from MSU. Since that time, I have also received my Certified Program Planner certificate from LERN, an international association of lifelong learning programming. I am also working towards a graduate degree. My previous work experiences with the Starkville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Starkville Daily News helped me begin my training for my current position.

During the last four years with Academic Outreach, I have worked with conferences, meetings, credit courses, camps, and independent study. How does that help you? COBI faculty are considered knowledgeable resources around the state, nation, and beyond. By combining the experience we at AOCE have in conference and meeting planning, certificate programs, and camps, together we can reach out to the state and the nation to highlight the resources we have within COBI at Mississippi State to the outside community and provide quality educational and career growth opportunities. Many of you are already involved in these types of programs.

Programs I currently work with include the MSU Distance MBA, Summer Insurance Institute, and the Economic Graduate Credit Program. With these, and future programs, offered by COBI we want to provide faculty, staff, and students with the resources they need to succeed. We will help ensure that you have the marketing, technology, admission and registration assistance you need for successful programming.

Whether conferences, specialized short courses or meetings, online degree plans or independent study options appeal to you, we will be glad to assist you in your endeavors.
