Michael Busby

Greetings; my name is Michael Busby.  I am a Distance Learning Coordinator with the Division of Academic Outreach and Continuing Education (AOCE) at Mississippi State University.  I have over seven years of experience as a coordinator with AOCE at Mississippi State University.  My primary background as a coordinator is in the field of academia.  During the past seven plus years I have successfully coordinated close to one thousand distance learning courses for college credit.  Recently I have become familiar with non-credit courses (workshops, training, conferences, etc.).  Thus I can now serve all of your department’s needs. 

My educational background began in MSU’s College of Business and Industry, where I received an undergraduate degree in general business.  After working in the field for around four years, I enrolled in graduate school at MSU and later received a Master of Education in Instructional Technology.  While working full time as a coordinator for AOCE, I am currently pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Instructional Technology with a Communication Minor.  I hope to complete this course work by the fall semester of 2007. 

Personally, my hobbies include tennis, technology of all kinds, and more tennis.  From a work standpoint, I really enjoy building business relationships and working with students.  I currently coordinate 5 distance programs including the Distance BSIS program.
