Laura Crittenden

Laura CrittendenWelcome to the Division of Academic Outreach & Continuing Education. I am the Manager of the Office of Academic Outreach at Mississippi State University, overseeing academic distance learning courses, certifications, and degree programs, college and high school independent study, dual enrollment, and marketing. I have worked in the field of distance and lifelong learning for over 7 years, including program development.
I am the Coordinator for the Community College Studies distance programs, as well, which include the Master of Arts in Teaching - Community College Instruction (MAT), the Master of Science in Workforce Educational Leadership (WEL), and the Doctor of Philosophy in Community College Leadership (CCL).

All three distance degree programs are delivered as hybrids in which two or more delivery methods are utilized to allow for maximum interaction, academic rigor, and course content quality that is to be expected at the graduate level.
The majority of students enrolled in these three distance degree programs are full-time Community College employees; however, any individual interested in pursuing the administrative/instructional field of Community College Studies at the Community College and 4-Year Institutional levels are encouraged to apply.
In particular, the distance degree programs have been created to train the next generation of Community College Leaders to be qualified professionals prepared for the rich complexity and diversity of today's educational environment.
For more information regarding these programs, please feel free to browse the Community College Studies website at: www.distance.msstate.edu/ccs.
